Hansel and Gretel are two fictional characters out of a German fairy tale by the same name which was recorded by the Brothers Grimm. This is about a young brother (Hansel) and sister (Gretel) who, while walking through a nearby forest, discovered a house made of candy and cake. Naturally, they were drawn to it but soon discovered that it is occupied by an evil witch who eats children.

This wonderful little fairy tale has also been adapted by Engelbert Humperdinck into a German language opera called Hänsel und Gretel and it was later adapted into many animated feature films in a variety of languages.
